Meet The Farmers

Naturally Grazed is located on the Tim and Tina Lehrbass farm in the township of Brooke Alvinston on the east side of Lambton County. We are a scenic 45-minute drive from London, Sarnia, and Chatham.

The 151 acres have been in the Lehrbass family for over 70 years and has been home to 5 generations. Bill Lehrbass purchased the farm from the Morrison Family in 1949 and he and his wife Jean, like many other farmers at the time, built a beef feedlot. They operated the feedlot until 1979 when their son Ian purchased the farm. Ian and Peggy fed cattle until the late 1980’s when they converted the farm to a cash crop business. In 2006 Tim, Ian and Peggy's son, purchased the farm. Tim and Tina were married in 2007 and they began to bring cattle back to the farm.

In 2015 Tim was ready for a change from cash cropping and began to tailor the farm towards livestock. The fence was installed along with water infrastructure to allow frequent animal rotations to ensure maximum production. Pasture in their area is becoming rare with most pastures being ploughed up as the older generation of farmers leave the cattle business.

Growing rich soil to power profitable pastures that will provide quality nutrition for our family of customers.

Tim and Tina saw a need and a growing interest in healthy, local food. The more they researched the more they knew 100% grass fed and finished beef would be the best way for them to help people's families source healthier beef. In 2018 Tim, Tina, Charlie, and Max created Naturally Grazed.

That year they had the opportunity to lease an additional pasture from a farmer that was retiring from raising grass fed beef, which doubled the amount of pasture available to them.

In 2020 the world changed with COVID-19.  Like many 9 and 10 year old’s, Charlie and Max found themselves with no school and in need of something productive to do. Tim applied to the Chicken Farmer’s of Ontario Artisanal program and was accepted. Charlie and Max were responsible for raising 600 non-GMO, pasture raised chickens. The chickens were not quite enough work for the boys, so they decided to be pig farmers as well. They now raise pigs on non-GMO feed and excess garden produce.

At Naturally Grazed our focus is to provide the customer with a healthy product and a friendly local experience. We look forward to bringing our fresh, locally raised meat to your family.
